Whether your child is working on speech sounds, language skills, or building strength and coordination, we're here with sunny-day strategies, engaging activities, and helpful tips to keep the progress going all summer long. Packed with real-life summer objects, this hands-on activity invites clients of all ages to explore language, movement, and sensory play in a joyful, engaging way. Whether you're digging for buried treasures or telling sunny stories, each item in the beach bag offers opportunities to meet goals while making practice feel like a day at the beach.

☀️ Beach Bag Bonanza 🎒
A Hands-On, Multisensory Summer Activity for Speech & OT!

Fill a beach bag, tote, or sand bucket with actual summer-themed objects that are tactile, functional, and fun. This can be practical and used with a bag or designated backpack that you’re already bringing for your day's activities or it can be designated specifically for a summer day of fun.

Items here are suggestions but the options are limitless and customizable based on you or your kiddos’ individual needs or interests:

👶🧒👧 Age-Based Modifications
Toddlers/Preschoolers: Use simple objects with big visuals; focus on naming, colors, and imitation.

School-Aged: Add story-building, articulation targets, and social language components.

Teens/Young Adults: Create mock beach plans, discuss summer safety, or use objects as metaphor prompts in higher-level language tasks.

On May 17th, Language Essentials attended Truck Time in San Ramon! This kid-focused, family-friendly event gives children of all ages a chance to explore cars, trucks, and vehicles of all shapes and sizes. The event also raises money for local causes through the Rotary Club of San Ramon.

Thank you to the team members who were able to attend, and a special thanks to Ms. McKenna and her fiancé Eric, as well as LE Founder Renee and her husband Jim, who both brought their own cars to the event—representing cool from both the past and present!

We were thrilled to see so many of our wonderful families and friends from the LE community. Thank you for stopping by! We’d also like to thank and welcome all the new friends we made at the event. It was a lovely time for all, and we look forward to doing it again!

Meet  Maahes – Our Star of the Month! 🐾

Fun Facts: Maahes (pronounced Mah-hez) was named after an Egyptian God, sometimes spelled Mahes, a protective lion god! Maahes is 3 years old and is a typical little brother to his fur-siblings. He can be a little rambunctious and is excited for most things wiggling around with joy. He loves to play, and steal toys, especially balls from his older sister, Echo. He also enjoys sun bathing, an occasional blow dry, and the sound of popping bubble wrap.
