Thank You for being a Friend!
|
February invites us to slow down just enough to notice what truly matters. In a season centered on love and connection, it’s a meaningful reminder that kindness, patience, and community aren’t just nice ideas—they’re skills we practice every day. Especially in uncertain times, choosing compassion, unity, and understanding helps us all know better and do better, together.
At Language Essentials, we believe growth happens through connection. By partnering closely with families, supporting skills beyond the therapy room, and meeting each child exactly where they are, we help build confidence that carries into daily life. This month—and always—we’re committed to nurturing progress rooted in care, collaboration, community, and a whole lot of heart. 💗

Homemade Valentine's Day Play Dough
|
Taste-Friendly Homemade Scented Play Dough
Looking for a simple, fun activity that supports your child’s speech and motor development at home? This taste friendly, homemade scented play dough is a favorite— because it feels like play, but works on important skills behind the scenes!
Supplies Needed:
•1 tub of frosting •Powdered sugar •Mixing bowl •Measuring cups •Spatula •Gloves (optional) •Food coloring •Extract for scent (vanilla, almond, lemon, etc.)
Directions: 1) Add the frosting to a mixing bowl. 2) Gradually mix in powdered sugar until a thick, dough-like consistency forms. 3) Add food coloring and a small amount of extract for scent. 4) Mix and knead until smooth and ready to play! *Chill if needed to firm up the dough, minimum of 10 mins.
Why We Love This Activity:
•Strengthens hand muscles for writing, cutting, and self-care skills •Encourages language through play (requesting, describing, commenting) •Supports sensory exploration and regulation •Taste-friendly ingredients allow safe exploration for curious little mouths •Promotes bonding, turn-taking, and joint attention
Best of all, this activity fits easily into your daily routine—no screens, no pressure, just meaningful play that supports your child’s Speech and OT goals at home.

Our January team gathering brunch at Polo’s Corner in Livermore was the perfect way to kick off the new year—celebrating new teammates, fresh beginnings, and the great work our team continues to do. Over crepes, breakfast burritos, and benedicts, we bonded, laughed, and truly enjoyed time together outside of our usual day-to-day.
Building community matters to us—both in the clinic and beyond it. Moments like these remind us that strong teams are built not just through hard work, but through shared meals, genuine connection, and a whole lot of joy.

Reminder, Please Update Insurance Information
|
As part of our annual administrative process, we are updating all insurance information. Many plans renew at the start of the year, and changes such as new policy numbers, copays, deductibles, or coverage updates are common—even if your provider has not changed.
Please contact our Admin Team as soon as possible by phone or email to update or verify your insurance information. If you have received new insurance cards or experienced any changes, we need those details on file to prevent billing delays or interruptions in services.
Reminder: Per our billing and payment policy, any claim that must be resubmitted due to new, incomplete, or outdated insurance information will incur a $25.00 administrative refiling fee. Updating your information promptly helps avoid these fees.
We appreciate your prompt attention.
